The fact that we are probably about to leave Iraq is definitely a good thing. If I could snap my fingers and remove all US troops from every foreign country I absolutely would. At this point we’re not helping anywhere stay more peaceful. Even if we were when we had a competent president (dubious honestly) Trump and GWB2 together have shown that we create a lot of global risk of conflict when we have less than ideal leadership.
If we withdraw from SK there will be a peace treaty pretty quickly and that now 50 year old conflict will deescalate.
If we withdraw from Europe the Europeans will be able to defend themselves just fine. They’re historically the most warlike people on the planet lol.
If we pull out of the middle east it’ll be a basket case, but it’s already a basket case.
We aren’t the good guys and our presence isn’t making anything better for anyone. Even in Israel our support is just enabling them to be significantly more aggressive and right wing than is wise in the long run.
Our military is a tool, and people who own tools are always looking for a reason to use them. Anyone with a suburban dad neighbor who spends a lot of money on tools knows this.

There is going to be some connection between what he says and the actions that follow. If he says planes are in the air or targets have been struck or will be struck then that’s probably what is happening. Obviously nothing he says should be taken at face value (true of other presidents in similar situations as I’m sure you know) but his words are not meaningless.
