Everyone please continue to ignore that US foreign policy has set the stage for this for years. Obama had the power to change that–he got a nuclear treaty that was easily set aside by the next president.

Serious question: which countries will actually back the US in this inevitable war? Obviously Johnson will do whatever Trump wants, but can the US really expect the EU or NATO to back them after such a blatant escalation?

I’m still not sure what you’re criticizing here; everything is easily set aside by the next president with foreign policy.
I’m losing my mind thinking about what could happen to millions of Iranian citizens. I just want to escape this world (no not kill myself, but go live on a mountain top until the radiation cloud comes).

He could have imposed sanctions on Saudi Arabia. He could have withdrawn troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.
He could have not repeatedly assassinated people in the region.
There are a number of things he could have done.
Point is, LOL at anyone who says this is all 100% on Trump and not on the way America has conducted its foreign policy for decades. Part of the blame certainly lies there as well.

Nobody defends Iran either outside of maybe some very passive aggressive russia/china.

Scrambling fighters would probably be a normal response to this sort of attack. I’m not seeing any reputable source on that claim of Iran warning the UAE yet.
