I think Iran logically does have to consider how big to go with their response. If they go too big, then all-out war seems pretty likely. And they probably don’t want that. So I don’t think any knee-jerk responses from them are going to be all that big. They’ll wait til their enemies drop their guard. And they have a lot of patience.
Meantime, someone needs to ask how planning 52 different attacks against Iran is different from the “imminent” threat from Iran that we keep hearing about in very general terms. Since we’re planning attacks, would Iran be justified in assassinating Pence or Pompeo?
Its going to be interesting to see how this goes over the next few days and weeks, and it could make the timing of the impeachment trial even more important. While I’m certain that light bribery isn’t enough to convince R senators to get off the Trump train, they may think Iran is too big a deal to leave to a real-estate conman. Maybe too optimistic about that.

i don’t want to game plan for iran, or reveal how much of a sociopath i am, but i’d definitely look into attacking trump properties around the world if i were them, attempting to minimize any kind of human loss.
if they could blow up a golf course or something without killing anyone you end up not losing much sentiment while also neutering trump.
eta- basically what im trying to say is, attacking trump the individual rather than the USA should be the obvious most +ev play for them
