Assassination is a difficult word to define these days. If you count all drone strikes as assassinations, there have been on the order of 10,000 intentional drone deaths. So maybe twice that many?

I’ll say it only counts as an assassination if the person’s name is known beforehand. Just general dronin’ around shooting anyone who looks a bit enemy-combatant-ish is more kind of ‘wholesale indiscriminate slaughter’, which doesn’t sound as badass, I suppose.
