How’s your progress learning Czech?
Gave up after a bit. Lacked the money and motivation at the time.
Got 8 weeks off coming up in a month. Plenty of time to do shit.

i got into a rabbit hole of inter-slavic (the slavic attempt of esperanto) in order to leverage russian into understanding of broader eastern europe. if there were a thread here for that, i would probably subscribe and participate.

I’d be interested. I’m planning to move to Tbilisi, Georgia in Spring 2022 and Russian is pretty important there and I’d like to travel a bit in the region as well. So I’m hoping to be able to communicate a bit in Russian by the time I arrive. I’m Czech and Polish heritage so would also like to leverage my Russian to those languages someday.

So keed and I have bandied this about for a few days…then I finally decided to search Stitcher to see if anyone else had already beaten us to the punch. Sure enough, several others have like these guys who beat us by like two years but this is exactly what we had in mind (and we actually discussed it before this dropped)
And keed pointed out that Steve Schrippa and Michael Imperioli were doing one too and it’s like current and has new episodes and shit. So, fuck :(
I was sure there wasn’t already a Dark Tower one and I looked and one just dropped like fairly recently so I guess that’s out too
Is that a reason not to do it? This thing is primarily for our own amusement so I wouldn’t worry too much if it was me.

Yeah we discussed just plowing ahead anyway, but I thought the whole point of this endeavor was to attract more people to the site, no?
My understanding is the podcast at this point is more of an internal “product.”
Podcasts are like porn: if you can think of it, someone has done it.

No, not really. That’d be a nice side effect, but not the main purpose. There’s a little talk of this in this thread’s OP. The point is to have fun and hopefully have 100 or so users of this site have a listen.
