Still haven’t heard from @Riverman, @JonnyA and @Tilted about their participation. I’ll remove them from the league if I don’t hear from them within a few days (teams auto-renewed in July apparently). I recall Riverman basically giving up on the league midway through. Wouldn’t be surprised to not hear from him. @MCG will get an invite if at least one of the three do not respond.
If you are not the only who wants to ditch it, sure.
I like it because I’m not in American time zones and would lose out on pretty much every waiver addition due to not being awake at the right times if there wasn’t FAAB. It would effectively destroy any chance I have of winning the league.
I’m happy to give up my spot if someone else wants it.
We don’t have a waiting list of owners dying to jump in. For a brief moment, I was wondering if we’d get 10 teams this season let alone 12.
I don’t think this is an issue. If I remember correctly, when you don’t have a waiver budget in your league, then each team has a waiver priority ranking, and as long as you submit your waiver claim prior to some deadline (like Tuesday midnight EST or something?), the owner with the highest ranking is the one who is awarded the player in cases where multiple owners attempt to claim the same player. Then when you use your waiver priority, you get bumped down to the bottom of the ranking. I think.
Anyway, I agree with getting rid of the budget method. I think last year was the first year I’ve experienced it, and I don’t think I even noticed it until midway through the season. Which means I was bidding $0 for every claim I submitted, and was all pikachu surprised when I never won any.

Having no waiver budget definitely is a decent advantage to people in the right time zone. You’re right that it doesn’t really matter for the top waiver claims. The issue with just normal waivers, there are lots of decent players that may not be worth a top claim (or perhaps any claim). So if you can be on-line right when waivers process, you can grab those guys first. With a waiver budget, you can bid $0 or $1 for them and have a shot to get them.

I generally agree with all of this. There are methods to avoid this problem and also avoid blind bid waivers. I don’t like them and they are annoying, but they avoid this issue entirely.
I’m also not sure which of these Yahoo will support, because it sucks.
Nevertheless, blind bid waivers really is the best system, imo. But just because it is the best, doesn’t mean we have to do it. I think auctions are the best way to do drafts, but we’re not doing that either (which is fine by me).
Honestly, I would love to do an auction draft. However, I think it’s a bit too time-consuming for most of the participants here.
But if it isn’t, I’m all in. It’s way more fun and involving than roto drafts.

In other news, tried out my first draft today. Basic free Yahoo league. Probably the weirdest draft I’ve ever done.
Got the 7th pick. Was planning to go zero RB and drafted Travis Kelce. Somehow, Bijan Robinson dropped to me in the second round and that kinda threw a wrench into the zero RB plan. Decided to try to go back to zero RB anyway and picked Jalen Hurts in the third. Somehow, Travis Etienne drops to me in the fourth and the value is too good to pass up on. So, I take him. Finally, I get DJ Moore in the fifth and he is my WR1. Christian Watson is my WR2.
So I kinda went from zero RB to zero WR in the end lol

I prefer auction, but every auction I’ve done on Yahoo has had some annoying glitch during the draft. So if we’re staying on Yahoo, I’d prefer snake. But I’ll play whatever.
Auction draft would scare me off, don’t tap the tank.
