Europe better be preparing for Trump 2.0 and what to do if the US refuses to back NATO defending the Baltics from a Russian invasion. I imagine Europe would still be united on that. And from what we’ve seen they could pretty easily do the job w/o the US.

Hindsight is 20/20. The West arming Ukraine could have been seen as threatening and aggressive, or at least just as an excuse for an invasion. I guess these are the reasons why it hadn’t been done.

This seems pretty accurate. I’d be shocked if Putin agrees to anything that leaves UKR’s govt intact.

Total of ~1840 on this other list. A shitload of helicopters either way. 
Something like only 2/3 of those can fly at any given time and I think there were more restrictions that whittle the number down even further. Also they’re going to run out of spare parts. They’re already flying with Garmin GPS instead of their internal systems.
I’m sure it’s also part of their propaganda campaign, like Fox News will probably be saying that it proves Putin is actually the good guy, he offered evacuation of citizens and the Nazi Clintons running Ukraine denied safe passage to their own citizens!

I can’t imagine there are people stupid enough to believe there’s a deal that Putin would hold to in the face of daily Nazi attacks on Russian speakers in western Ukraine.
