So there’s this 40 mile convoy, and we haven’t heard anything about an encampment nearby where they’re sleeping. Surely they’re not crazy enough to sleep in the vehicles as the Ukrainians just lay waste to their vehicles all over the country?
And it seems the existence of an encampment of that size, or a series of tents or whatever near the road would make the news, at least on OSINT Twitter.
My point is, is there a chance that some/many of these vehicles are abandoned?
Don’t they have to sleep in the vehicles to guard them from Ukrainian raiders?
I don’t see why they couldn’t sleep nearby in shifts and have a night watch.
As I mentioned earlier you definitely don’t want to sleep in your vehicle as that is the target and an easy one when it is not moving. You sleep nearby and patrol the area as you don’t want to get killed in your sleep either. Doubt farmers get near that big convoy without getting shot. The farmer movies are abandoned vehicles during a retreat or Ukranian vehicles.
Also if they just dig foxholes then you need to be really close to see them.

heard in an interview with a war journalist today. in all of Kyiv’s history, no army has ever attempted to take it from the north. it’s basically impossible. it’s some of the thickest forest cover remaining in europe, lots of swamp and wetland, tiny wooded roads, bridges over small rivers, etc.
just monumentally dumb.
