Ukraine, Russia, and the West

so you definitively know that it’s not a ramp up of intervention, despite nato and eu involvement being basically a straight line up and multiple other red lines like swift, military equipment and etc?

jlawok churchill.

Even right now the African refugees in Ukraine are being treated terribly.

Supplying jets is supplying Militarily equipment, which the UK, US and almost every Euro country has done since the beginning of the conflict.

We’re not supplying the guys shooting the guns, flying the planes or driving the tanks. So no, it’s not a step up.

What good is giving fighter jets to them if they have no training in them. I assume they are mostly accustomed to old soviet jets.

My guess is that former Eastern bloc countries still have some Migs or Sukhois.

Edit: Polish air force uses Mig-29 and Su-22

I mean she’s right. Countries like Poland, CR, and Slovakia scream bloody murder over the idea of ME war refugees being granted asylum.

On top of the same race and similar cultural background, all 3 countries already have very large Ukrainian populations. As a matter of fact, Ukrainians are the largest immigration population in each of them.

So, the easy acceptance is not a surprise.

EDIT: Just noticed that Louis beat me to it. Dammit.

churchill you clearly misread the previous post. supplying fighter jets is a clear increase in response. Stop.

first mil thread i see that’s cautiously giving the edge to UA

I mean they’re kinda right. If you’re an unwanted presence in a country, then eventually you’ll leave. Might take a very long time, but it will happen at some point so long as reistance continues.

In case you missed it, Turkey as supplied drones (military equipment) Rumour has it the EU will supply jets (also military equipment) - I guess the step up, if there is one, is a person needs to physically man a jet. Presumably a Ukrainian national as the EU ain’t flying the jets themselves.

i don’t think there’s any eventuality to it. modulo nukes, somehow everyone still expects russia to succeed.

If Putin needs to take Kyiv in a hurry - this could get really crazy.
