Hearing that Ukraine is pushing on Kherson with 20k+ troops starting 18 hours ago but haven’t seen many details. Radio silence was urged. Hoping the Russians haven’t figured out how to fight.

Didn’t Israel block delivery of patriot missiles with iron dome technology to Ukraine in the early stages of the conflict?

I don’t know what the production rate is but I’ve read that they cost $25,000. If that even is close to true it presents the Ukrainians with an impossible choice, as the cheapest air defense missile is probably the stinger. In May Raytheon got a $600 million dollar contract to replenish 1300 stingers.
I don’t know if cannon-based AA systems are effective in shooting these drones down but that’d be the only thing that’d be even remotely cost effective to shoot them down, if the $25,000 cost per drone is close to accurate.

Not unless other countries are going to be willing to join Russia by throwing their troops into a meat grinder.
