Corruption causes issues with complex delivery systems like ICBM’s. One of those ‘tactical’ nukes that can be delivered by artillery has nothing in it that you need to maintain for ages.

The US last tested in 1992. My aerospace coworkers participated in one of the last Nevada tests. I came along later but we were doing reliability tests on rocket motor components into the late 90s. I assume somebody somewhere was testing other system parts and that this has continued up to the present and that the Russians have a similar program.

Since the test ban, testing without actually detonating a nuclear device was supposed to be done by computer simulation and we did explosives testing to support that. There are unknowns but we have a pretty good idea of whether or not these things will work. Ofc no way to know for sure and I’d rather we don’t find out.

by artillery you mean kalibr or something? because those did not have a great record either in this war. and ru artillery troops suck. some of it is “high-precision missiles” that are not actually high precision, but a part of it is also terrible communications of coordinates and targets.

yeah i’m sure there is a device that can detonate, but having the system to transmit putin’s codes into some terminal, and extract and arm and mount the warhead, then delivered onto a sub or truck, and put into position to fire. there’s a lot of steps that can be undone by cigarette butts.

Nice Poast

The Odd Lots episode with Marko Papic is fascinating. Highly recommended.

Ru telegrams are just straight up injecting uncut copium in broad daylight. Girkin is trying to prepare himself mentally for leaving Kreminna.

good signs imho.

Russians report that every time they lose territory

it’s night in ukraine. most reporters only start posting things when it’s 9am local, and then putting out analysis pieces when it’s midday in europe

Good thread on how to read polls in Russia.
