If by landslide you mean he won by 107K votes in three states that would of gave the victory to Hillary then yes, he won by a landslide.

Wat? No

PA+MI+WI = 46

He won those three by like a combined 78k votes. That’s not a landslide by any definition

Whether you want to argue over semantics of what a landslide technically constitutes - he’s going to win in a similar way, and he does not need to expand his base to do so.

I’m still absolutely perplexed why he needs to expand his base to win again. I’m not even factoring in yet the blatant vote suppression or outright cheating that will happen.

There could be a number of reasons, but the main one I can think of is geographical diversification. If things go sideways in Russia (say, your buddy Putin dies or is deposed by someone you aren’t friendly with), it’s nice to have “clean” money and assets in other countries. Perhaps a large ownership interest in an English soccer team, or a fancy apartment in New York…

I mean, you’re basically saying that if the same people vote the same way in 2020 then Trump will win. I agree with that.

There’s so much more on the table now, though. Dems aren’t ignoring WI, MI, PA and polling is all in Biden’s favor. You’ve got OH and FL as toss-ups (I personally don’t see either going blue, but whatever), AZ, NC, GA, TX, and I think IA will be closer than people think too.

Yup voter suppression and outright fraud are HUGE causes of concern and could possibly get Trump in for term infinity, but if I have to choose a side right now just as far as who I think will win, it’s the dems by a longshot.

So yeah, maybe we’re just talking about the definition of landslide. I don’t think he won in a landslide in 2016 and you do. That’s ok.

Biden is ahead 6.9 in MI, 5.4 in PA, and 6.7 in WI. He barely binked those states in 2016.

I think it’s far more likely Biden wins in a landslide than Trump. Trump is doing all these shenanigans because he’s losing, not because he’s trying to run the score up.

Trump doesn’t need to expand his base, but he does need to hold on to it, and by all accounts he’s losing a lot of the causal voters in the suburbs. Plus he’s not running against the WOAT candidate like he was in 2016.

The EC map makes it look like a landslide, but it would have only taken <50,000 votes to flip PA. WI and MI are similar, and if he loses those, it’s game over.

Trump already used the “I’m the king of debt” line during the 2016 campaign and that whole line of attack didn’t hurt him one bit.

The big difference this year is that sure, Trump still has HIS base, but he lost a solid chunk of the Republican base.

Winning in a similar way is not a landslide. It would be him squeaking by again.

No one is saying that can’t happen.

Can we fucking not please?

This shit is misogynistic af. She’s a gross enabler of fascism, we don’t need to go with this crap.

Keeping your money in Russia exclusively leaves you with no out if Vlad turns on you.

It’s also because Russian currency has a habit of uh crashing, so they want clean & stable Western money/assets; but mostly yeah, what you said

I think the answer is that if you want to exchange (lots of) Russian currency for dollars you need a bank at some point, and most of them need to at least be able to pretend they verified the source of funds.

No no no, this is why you need writers:

The president likes to call people losers and suckers. He claims to be a businessman but has lost millions of dollars every year since 2012. Star of The Apprentice? Moar like The Biggest Loser amirite?

I was thinking today about years ago when Trump’s tax returns were finally leaked and showed he never paid taxes, was broke, owed $420M, had a bunch of illegal transactions and may have been involved in massive money laundering.

The repercussions were massive.

Man that was so long ago. Feels like a lifetime.

Do you guys remember like 3 months ago when Trump’s tax returns leaked and that was a huge story?

They needed to leak a bit of it each day or something. Now it’s like a netflix show that been binged, talked about for day and done with.
