Trump tax returns leaked. For realz.

Does anyone else remember the guy on the old site who catalogued all the absurd shit that was happening each day at the beginning of this administration? That guy lasted like two months tops and had hundreds of pages of material

Yeah. It probably killed him.

He turned his back on the Kurds and disrespects our Democratic allies.

Yeah this - there’s that window where you get sort of genuine reactions and cognitive dissonance - until the derpysphere finds just the right notes to soothe the brain.

This is definitely the wrong thread but is that a decent general message to put on FB? I’m aware I won’t change minds but am looking to get my view out there

god damnit, that sucks. i want to let people know how i feel but i don’t know how

I would stay away from foreign policy. Way too abstract and complex. A softball for his “endless wars” rhetoric.

You could scratch the f-bomb imo.

Trump’s actually broke and not rich at all is much better I think with the base, and to drive Trump nuts.

But the no taxes stuff might work with squeamish suburban R base - who I do believe are somewhat flippable. At least in my family a few of them swear they’re voting for Biden. Eat shit narrator.

Is he broke? That Twitter thread posted earlier had his net worth at around $2.5 billion. I mean I’m all for that messaging if it can work, but I’m pretty sure it’s just not true.

I think “Trump is screwing you” is just another variant on “rich guys are screwing you” which has been utterly failing as a message ever since Reagan. We’ve talked about this on UP, that half the country think they are a lucky break away from being in the millionaire class themselves. They’re all convinced they’re going to be the ones doing the screwing. “No, you’re actually a loser” is not a good pitch.

Frankly, “he’s vain and whines like a baby at anything even vaguely negative about him” is a good enough explanation here, just as it was with “why is he screaming so much about Russiagate, definitely wegothim.jpg when this all comes out”.

But if you want an explanation, it seems very likely some of these tax dodges amount to criminal fraud. That’s bad for Trump, but not necessarily electorally bad.

Be a man, say it to his face. @Narrator

He’s not worth $2.5 billion.

His only actually good asset is 30% of two office buildings - that was worth about $900 million net of debt pre-Covid. Office has been crushed by the virus. Let’s generously say $600 million.

He owns a bunch of golf resorts that incinerate cash. What would you pay for a business that loses money? They’re almost certainly losing even more money now relative to the years covered by the tax returns. He also owns the DC hotel - this also loses money.

He has personally guaranteed at least $400 million of debt. Once he loses his IRS appeal he will owe them $100 million, cash, due immediately. God knows how much he owes foreigners off the books.

He’s broke.

I think you are overstating the importance of making an argument that Trump’s base would honor. They won’t honor anything. That’s why they are his base. But that is not everyone.

Fairness is a pretty basic human emotion. We see it in toddlers. We see it in monkeys. Seeing someone get more than they deserve, especially when it’s more than what you get, makes people really, really angry. Republicans have been capitalizing on this for our whole lives. A big aspect of the racism of the right is the feeling that Black people getting economic prosperity before them is not fair. A so-called billionaire paying less than their monthly rent in taxes hits that note.

Nobody “wins” a debate.

In fact, Trump is a multibillionaire, worth $2.5 billion, by our count. His portfolio, which includes commercial buildings, golf properties and branding businesses, is worth an estimated $3.66 billion before debt. The president has a fair amount of leverage—adding up to a roughly $1.13 billion—but not enough to drag his net worth below a billion dollars.

TBF the Forbes billionaires list has always been bullshit

His project was designed to catalog the first 100 days. They were posted in the main Trump thread by suitedjustice. His info was later archived in a separate thread: Trump’s First 100 Days

Imagine it he’d kept going. Today is day 1348.

The valuations in that article are complete nonsense. On top of that, they’re pre-COVID and all his assets are office and hotel, which have been decimated.

You could just post “fake news”.
