Trump Administration Part 2 - Golf and Fascism

This is somewhat wrong. As indicated, I was 100% on the fitness bandwagon in 2019-20 but fell off during covid, when my gym closed. I was finally forced to return this May after getting a 11.7 for my a1c. Getting back into fitness has returned my labs to normal and I’m now off meds except Ozempic, but I suspect I could go off of it without too much issue as I’m working out and logging calories, and that’s worked for me in the past. However, would support widespread availability of glp-1 for all. (My main concern is that people also lose muscle if they don’t exercise while on it, which will be bad if they cease use and regain weight.)

Maybe the issue is the food supply and not the people?

I don’t know what that means. Grocery stores still sell apples, rice, broccoli, chicken, and fish. What are they going to do, illegalize Crisco and ice cream? Afaict, mayo and peanut butter are about the worst foods out there in terms of caloric density, but people really like mayo and peanut butter.

Even after your health epiphany you are still an idiot

Ice cream is correlated to a bunch of positive health outcomes fwiw.

Trump appointed judge blocks rule that anyone earning under $58.6k/yr must be paid overtime for 40+ hours a week. Trump administration not expected to appeal.

Surely Democrats will be helped due to the political theory of, “do things for people that make their lives better and voters will reward you”. Republicans will definitely pay a price for this one.

Looks like Trump will just bypass background checks and security clearances for his nominees. I’m sure the private companies he’s using to vet people instead are both less effective than the FBI and run by some Trump buddy that will get a nice check for handling the investigations.

Excuse me?

People with positive health outcomes probably just like ice cream more than fatties…

Nah.

You see, like Dobbs, it happened while Biden was President, so it’s clearly his fault.

Yeah, this is highly relevant to my interests.

Great example of nutritionists ignoring science in favor of their preconceived notions!

Just started reading the first one. “Half cup of ice cream a day”. That might be a problem. Once I get started, I ain’t stopping at 1/2 cup. Maybe if I can average it out over a whole week. 2 pints a week seems good. I just wouldn’t have it every single day.

I don’t know what your sarcasm level is here, but this is a pretty good demonstration that nutrition science (or at least nutrition epidemiology) is, as a discipline, more or less bullshit top to bottom.

The recent episode of Slate’s Amicus podcast is basically a version of several parts of my list. ,mostly focused on targeted prosecutions, destroying checks and balances, stifling opposition speech, and using corrupt judges to back the administration. Also has a bonus segment on musk being the most powerful oligarch in history.

Believe this was the flaw in the famous “one glass of wine a day is good for you” study. Turned out that having the self-discipline to stop at exactly one glass was the human superpower needed thrive in life.
