The War on Voting

Extremely accurate. Texas is a state with a long history of one party rule. Flipping it is going to be hard, but the day we do the GOP in Texas will be more finished there than the Democrats are today.

Hmmm that’s interesting because the NFL just announced that the Packers stadium will be used for voting, wonder why the GOP has no issue with that stadium but with these two it does?

I just spent most of my lunch hour in the car listening to local Public radio interviewing two county supervisors of elections. They spent almost the entire hour reassuring listeners about vote by mail. I actually learned some things I did not know. It was very informative.

The damage Trump has done will take years and years to undo. You could hear in their voices how frustrated they were with the misinformation he and his campaign are spreading.

What’s the next step - SCOTUS or is there some other layer that can overturn this?

I feel like that should be in the headline of every one of these stories instead of buried in paragraph nine. I’m tired of reading “Victory!” then reading about it being overturned by a 2-1 vote along party lines in the 9th circuit court or w/e a month later.

I’m just going off the headline. The injunction can be appealed to the 5th Cir (the worst circuit), but it’d be semi-freakish for the 5th cir to stay the district court’s injunction pending appeal with a 25 day window til the election. However, you may remember the 5th circuit from such hits as unlimited abortion restrictions and Obamacare repeal.

I’d be willing to bet that some clerk has already written the opinion overturning the injunction.

That or Texas just refuses to put up more drop boxes and nothing happens.

It’s the D County governments that put up boxes. So the blue areas get them and the red areas don’t. That’s a shame.

Ok - the Texas Rangers take down any new drop boxes that get put up and nothing happens.

Or Abbott says any ballots that come in via those boxes are invalid, and we’ll let SCOTUS decide.

Or plan F, G, H, I, all the way to ZZ
