The War on Voting

https://twitter.com/channel4news/status/1310584937356103686?s=21

I’m 13 mins in to the actual report that someone linked in one of the threads, and its very meh. All it is, is that trumps campaign had voter rolls with people, and marked as “deterrence” black people out of proportion. They were insinuating that something unseemly was done with the information and that they were targeting African americans. He talks about disenfranchisement here and there and voter ID. And we all know thats done but it doesn’t have any particular relation to this list of names IMO. I’m sure Clinton/Bidens teams have similar lists but maybe instead of deterrence it says, “easily persuaded not to vote”. It just means that they should target that group with ads etc as the story goes on to say. Anyone doing this sort of work is negligent if they aren’t doing the same analysis IMO.

Obviously state legislators etc that have similar lists that they are flat out using for disenfranchisment like they did in NC is a problem.

Helped a woman at work register to vote last week and she wasn’t popping up in the system so I called the BOE and they said they’re backed up and to give it another week or two.

I mean, jfc violent facepalm:

I’m guessing it’s also illegal to deliver anyone else’s ballot to a dropoff point?

I’m just going to say yes without even looking it up lol… Has to be.

BALLOT HARVESTING!!!

I believe it depends on the state. I just looked up Georgia and the rules say you can’t have someone else drop off a ballot for you unless you are disabled. At the same time, I can’t imagine there would be any way to prevent/catch someone from dropping off their spouse’s ballot at an drop box.

I think the only state where it’s allowed is California.

Gotcha. I assumed there would be some states where you could drop off a ballot for someone in your household, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I was wrong in thinking that.

Yeah there may be exceptions like that but I think it’s mostly only for the disabled.

In COVID times, my wife and I go drop off our ballots together and treat it like a special outing. Like a date!

EDIT: I still haven’t received mine yet and she got hers this past weekend. I’m getting annoyed.

The way to prevent it is to catch one minority doing it and send them to jail for 10 years for a felony. Like they’ve already done.

I know I read one about a woman threatened with a felony for helping people get their ballots into the mail.
