Have a lot of thoughts on this, especially as it seemed like Arsenal were going to sign him.

-Rogers is clearly a good player, but I’m not very sure he is ever going to be a superstar

-I largely don’t love the tweener types of players who aren’t really wingers/arent really attacking mids

-Even if you think Rogers is overrated or priced, there arent many players of his ability available

-Chelsea finally breaking their wage structure on him is a bit odd given the players they didn’t go for in recent years. Is Rogers ~£50m+ better than say, Semenyo?

they used to give auto bid for 1st, i think they stopped after teams kept bombing out in the group stage

Absolutely, there just isnt much between the top 4 teams this tournament then a sharp drop off to anyone else.

But England fans should definitely leave this tournament disappointed with how the last half hour vs Argentina went. Maybe they dont beat Spain, but its still an awful loss of their own doing.
