Dunno. When I walk into a shop and they have a Rueben, it better be with corned beef, or I’m ordering something else. It’s an expectation thing for me, lol.

I wasn’t attempting to compare it to any other place. In absolute terms it’s good and you can get a good pastrami or corned beef sandwich there.

There are a dozen great delis in LA.

And making a god damned pizza or bagel or reuben or pastrami with russian dressing, swiss and sauerkraut or hot dog or cheese steak sandwich or bbq brisket is not some piece of magic that can only be done on some holy site.

For about a year I did origination/sales for non-profit housing finance/refinance. But what it boiled down to, and what I told people my job was, was eating pastrami sandwiches.

The owner of Langer’s played at the Bicycle Casino daily for years. More sporadically in the last few years because I think he lives far away and doesn’t work every day anymore. Either way, saves him a lot of money.
