Et tu Yuri (Bernie) Andropov?

She’s certainly uppity.

Would have been kinda cool if the Ginni Thomas stuff had come out while Breyer was on his book tour.

Discussing consequences of any kind at this point is well , umm, odd.

At this post the actually shocking thing is how little corruption and illegality goes on.

Highly qualified?

Let me guess - impeachment if a scotus judge requires 2/3 in the senate?

That’s a good thing. Otherwise court would be 9-0.

Yeah true

Recusal is also required

Required? Nah, let’s check out ol’ 28 USC 455(b)(5)

Steven Mnuchin taught us that “shall” in a law actually means nothing.

Does Robert’s have any punitive powers as Chief Justice?

He’s not recusing, and there will be no consequences for him. There will likely be consequences for anyone with business before the Court who has the audacity to suggest/mention recusal.

This is where gerrymandering plus electoral college really becomes a problem. This shit is not unpopular in swing states! Our system is just totally FUBAR

More and more I think it’s a miracle our democracy lasted this long.

I think we need a separate Clarence Thomas: DEATHWATCH thread, it’s too heartbreaking to see a bunch of posts in here and have it not be that.

None of us run well enough for that ghoul to actually die.

Reports of Clarence Thomas being alive are greatly exaggerated
