So we should nominated the candidate with the most support. If that’s Based Joe, cool.
I don’t think Biden is as evil as Trump. I think Bloomberg is more evil than Trump. Just for clarity.
I agree with this take.
I’m not saying Biden is in the same universe as Trump. He’s obviously way “better.”
I’m saying:
-
I’m never voting for Joe Biden
-
I don’t give a shit if you think that’s selfish or stupid or whatever, I’ve reached the breaking point with the Democratic Party
Biden vs. Trump = 0 justices; maybe 2 for the GOP
Bernie vs. Trump = small chance of taking back the Senate and 2 justices; maybe 2 for the GOP
I’ll take the latter.
Biden is better than Trump, but he still sucks ass. Bloomberg is clearly the worst Dem candidate and Biden is clearly the second worst. I don’t know if you’re like this, but most of the people on this site would think it’s essentially just as insane to suggest that Marco Rubio or Jeb or Mitt Romney are no worse than Bloomberg or Biden. To most of the people here the very least objectionable Republican is light years worse than any conceivable Democrat.
I’m in, but I’m going to feel really dumb if I wake up Wednesday morning and find out that Florida Man took WA because half of King County refused to vote for Biden.
And Biden locks up the critical James Comey endorsement!
You may not have that choice
Again, all I’ve heard out of the supposed dirtbag left for the past three years is that Dems are horrible at playing hard-nosed politics and condescending remarks about how this isn’t a Westwing episode. Evidently Bernie is so bad at politics he can’t checks notes form a winning coalition in a primary (which, I should add isn’t over, he still has time to right the ship). As someone pointed out (Bobman?) Cutting deals to get what you want is politics 101, I’m sorry some of you don’t realize that’s part of the game, it’s like the main facet of the game. You’re like an old guy who gets pissed at a check raise.
I’d vote for him and probably gain respect for him if he won and his first announcement after inauguration is “JK, I only said that to get elected. Get your $1K a month from Mexico ya fucking rubes”.
This sums up what I actually read when anyone here says they won’t vote for Biden.
I don’t like Biden. I think he is a mush brain. I don’t think he is likely to win the general.
But lol not voting for him which is absolutely supporting a Trump re-election.
People are going to need to get over themselves if Biden is the nominee. And I will state again, I’m not even a democrat.
Man you’re close. Game that out a little more. What are the circumstances where he wouldn’t have that choice?
Btw. This is fucking bullshit. Biden has as much chance in Michigan, Pennsulvania and Wisconsin as any other random dem candidate.
And thats pretty much it. Thats the ballgame. You think WHOEVER the dem nominee is in 2020 isnt going to pump every dollar they have into campaigning in those three states, youre fucking crazy. They will be kissing union babies and sucking off coal workers, and molesting steel workers wives for 5 straight months. Whoever is the nominee will know this is a race to 270 and thats it. Hillarys people wanted a fucking landslide because they are morons.
Only one I can think of is Bernie not getting the nom.
I am on SSDI, can’t work and can only get health insurance through Obamacare. I get about 24k a year and my medical expenses come out to about 12k a year. Would love to get more physical and occupational therapy and try to get back to work but it’s tough without money and not being able to drive.
I’m not trying to compare sob stories but there is a big difference between a dem and republican for me and I don’t have a ton of love for progressives who don’t see a difference or don’t care all that much between my current subsistence existence and me having six figure medical expenses/bankruptcy just because their preferred candidate didn’t win.
The two party system sucks but is Canada’s system actually better? We live in a country where the conservatives only have a chance of winning federal elections because the left is fractured between the Liberals and the NDP. The Republicans already have enough structural advantages in the US with the electoral college, breaking the Dems into a left and center-left party would guarantee Republican power in perpetuity.
If that happens Trump would put up Nixon vs McGovern numbers so nothing would matter anyway.
Right. And if the population rises up and demands Joe Biden, I’m there. But if the population rises up, demands Bernie Sanders and the party games it so that Biden gets the nomination anyway…there is no democratic process there and I won’t participate in the sham. That’s how I feel and I don’t claim to speak for anyone else.
Has problems for sure but is way better if only for minority governments and the fact that minority parties like the NDP can win provincially.
