A friend of mine adopted from either Nepal or Tibet, can’t remember which one. I’ve never asked him what it cost, but the whispers I’ve heard are that it cost a lot.
This forum would be a lot better if more people did this.

I try to hold myself to a three-and-out rule. If I’ve made three subsequent posts in an exchange, I’ve probably already expressed my opinion as best I can. Anything further is pointless repetition that makes the forum worse for everybody.

For the record, surf has given you a possible explanation that even you can’t find absurd. According to surf, sometimes adopted parents stay overnight with the newborn just like biological parents. When that happens they sometimes stick the adopted parents in the exact same type of hospital room that biological parents would get. That room always has a hospital bed in it and it is where one of the two of them would sleep (or at least lie down, since they’re really not going to get much sleep) that night.

Can we just all agree how horrible the plot of the Parent Trap is? (Specifically the Hayley Mills one).
They each take a twin and don’t tell them that the other exists or what the hell happened to their missing parent.
Effing child abuse.
People should Google more before they post.
I am on the other end of the spectrum and had never heard of that before, which is part of the reason I found the photo odd.
I’m still curious about how often this actually happens and how it’s paid for, but I’ll rely on google to answer those things as best I can.

I did inquire about this. She got the babies when they were born. It did cost a lot (not sure how much). She has a brother who has money who paid for it.
