I’m more angry about the people assuming they used a surrogate.
They did not. They’ve been in line for an adoption for over a year, and Chasten recently talked about having one fall through at the last minute.
I now it’s totally impossible for people to just be happy for them. I love to see that UP hasn’t changed at all. Not sure why you all still hate him for the primary, when he’s doing good work at USDOT and probably a driving factor behind the only legislation that’s going to happen this term.
This will be my only comment on this. Read the replies and some of the QTs for the gross homophobia they’re dealing with and be mad at that, instead.

Nobody is mad at them or think its bad they adopted a kid. I’m sure most of us think its great and are happy for the kids
We’re just laughing at the photo. It’s funny. Laughing at stuff is ok even when its at the expense of something you like. ZZ observation was hilarious.

I recently had a railroad spike shot through my skull so I may be a little slow on the uptake here, what am I supposed to be mad about? Mayo Pete adopted a baby and they posted a pic and something something he hates women? Can someone fill in the blanks for me

Some people revealed themselves as bigots and Pete haters because they laughed at Pete and his partner (husband? significant other?) getting into a hospital bed with the babies for a photo op.

Folks laughing at Pete may not have been motivated by homophobia, but surely you get this might be more sensitive?
Gay couples adopting are historically (and today, according to the comments on the tweet) mocked, denigrated and denied basic rights. It’s the kind of thing you should probably maybe think and just move on from.
If you choose to say it anyway, the reaction is kind of on you.
Like, maybe there’s a non racist way to joke about a black person eating watermelon… maybe… but just don’t even try.

It’s not a problem, it’s funny. Because pictures like this with the baby and the parents in/near the hospital bed are usually taken because the mother is in a bed because she just gave birth.
