They give false hope to low-info progressives that think Biden is actually on the same page as them, cause hand-wringing among old moderate democrats that heâs not the milquetoast moderate they were hoping for, and rile up the right who were just looking for confirmation that heâs Karl Marx in disguise anyway.

Republicans get lots of money from state and local governments. If they are talking bailouts, I would expect them to favor giving money to their personal fiefdoms, where they can dole it out to the businesses and other people that fund their campaigns, rather than to individuals.
