Murphy and Schatz are pretty decent, not super progressive or anything but at least call out Republican hypocrisy and make simple cases about good things that the Dems should do.\
Honestly that Jerry Maguire clip and Williams’ reaction to it was hilarious, I have no problem with it.
It still amazes me that there is a nonzero number of people who think it was a mistake. It’s his show. He set up the clip. He knew there was no leaked Mar-a-Lago meeting footage. If it was a mistake, the producer would have cut the clip after 2 seconds. It wouldn’t have had the credit in the top corner.
100% planned.
Also, Williams has a reputation of having a sense of humor drier than the Sahara.
Definitely planned. My question would be how high up the flagpole it went? I produced a lot of local tv newscasts and would have never have tried something like that without going to the boss first, for old-fashioned reasons like credibility and stuff.
Guess it depends on how much creative control the hosts have over their shows. That’s probably an MSNBC internal culture thing. From some of their other “named” shows, it seems like they might have a bit more than other networks.
Yeah…its a stunt you’d expect to see on a late-night comedy show, rather than what’s supposed to be a straight newscast. With Brian Williams’ history, he’s likely not doing it without discussing with higher-ups. It may not have even been his idea. I remember I wanted an anchor to flash the peace sign during a story for some reason, but she wouldn’t do it.
Yeah this isn’t a hate that’s going to get better with time. Some people you hate less with distance and perspective… and some people you hate more. Much more.
Yeah, I’m not feeling good at all. I mean Biden was even more forgotten and off the radar than Trump 4 yrs ago and he shipped it. Trump is drawing very live in 2024. Even if he does absolutely nothing between now and primary season.
So it’s fine to enjoy the temporary quiet, but there should be no feeling of relief.
