It is heartbreaking. I hope nothing but the worst for her parents.
I agree social media is garbage but in this case it allowed her to get her truth out. It would have been trivially easy for her parents to keep it capped otherwise.
It doesnât even matter if she is telling the truth. Lying about that stuff is just as damning to the parents.

Johnsonâs was one of the 16,776 petitions filed in the Obama administrationâs 2014 clemency project.[11] In 2016, she wrote an op-ed for CNN asking for forgiveness and a second chance.[18] Her application was denied just before Obama left office.
