The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Unconstitutional Slop

I’m fine with Pelosi saying that, letting the right wing derposphere latch back onto the “Joe doesn’t even know his own name” bullshit, and set the bar nice and low for him when they inevitably do debate.

Why does it seem like a flip now? I’ve seen several people itf share similar sentiments the last few days after a lot of high confidence that Trump had no chance without bigly cheating. There hasn’t been a big change in the state of the race afaict.

Yeah this is a trap for sure. I’ve seen a lot of Joe Biden and Trump footage recently and I know which one is going to look better. Trump is really run down. I’ve seen a lot of him over the last 3-4 years because he’s a raging narcissist, which makes this assertion easier to make for me.

Wisconsin had fallen to 48-48 on the protests before recent events

Cheating had become a much bigger problem, plus the protests turning violent again and feds going in are going to give him a big bump and probably give him Wisconsin.

Plus there have been several sources about the race tightening

Meh, it’s still a negative freeroll for Biden. Trump could literally shit his pants on stage and say we’re gonna change my diapey and Mexico’s gonna pay for it, and no person currently voting for Trump will change their mind. If Biden on the other hand stumbles one sentence, rightwing media will blast it from the highest mountain and mainstream media will aid and abet them. “While we don’t see a few stumbles as proof of decline, they do raise questions about the former Vice President’s fitness for the highest office in the country.”

EDIT: wtf, I really thought I clicked respond to @boredsocial .

I obviously know that, my question is what has changed that people who were cautiously optimistic are saying it’s “now a flip.”

They’ve woken up.

Ho hum, another scandal that would’ve brought down any past president, throw it over there on the pile

I know this might come as a shock to some, but quite a lot of people don’t like what Trump’s doing on this supposed law and order thing. They know he’s abusing the law and they know all of this is self-serving. This is playing explicitly well to his ultra-violent fantasy wishing base. We ‘finally’ made it to a ‘civilian’ murdering people at a protest in the name of ‘upholding’ the law. Next stop will be the sanctioned people.

The ‘not hot take’ is that most of this country wants Trump over with. I wouldn’t be surprised if a poll happening with all we’re seeing now that was actually taken during the impeachment trial would be well over 60% for removal. Instead, tell them what they’ve won Charlie!

“President-elect Trump wants there to be no doubt in the minds of the American public that he is completely isolating himself from his business interests,” Sheri Dillon, a Trump lawyer, said at a news conference Trump called in January 2017. “He instructed us to take all steps realistically possible to make it clear that he is not exploiting the office of the presidency for his personal benefit.” (Dillon did not respond to requests for comment for this report.)

On the campaign trail in 2016, Trump had offered one simple way to underline his separation from his properties: He just wouldn’t visit.

“I may never see these places again,” Trump said during a rally in August 2016. “Because I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to go play golf. Believe me.”

In response to questions for this report, White House spokesman Judd Deere said in a statement that Trump has “turned over the day-to-day responsibilities of running the company though he was not required to, [and] has sacrificed billions of dollars” because of discarded deals.

Deere did not directly address questions related to the second set of promises Trump made before taking office — the promises that he would not use his presidency to help the Trump Organization.

“The Washington Post is blatantly interfering with the business relationships of the Trump Organization, and it must stop,” Deere wrote in his statement. “Please be advised that we are building up a very large ‘dossier’ on the many false David Fahrenthold and others stories as they are a disgrace to journalism and the American people.”

The full amount paid by the U.S. government to Trump’s properties is unknown. Neither the Trump Organization nor the White House would provide a figure, and many of the records showing these transactions have not been released.

this isn’t a dossier that’s meant to be rebutted with receipts and bank statements, they’re compiling lists of traitors.

Eh. I think the Trump supporters are really struggling to hold on right now. Look at how loud they are about everything. They are either hiding or throwing temper tantrums. Their turnout is in play for sure.

She’s right.

Mother Jones sent Petrocelli a list of questions about the conversation, which took place with several other people in the room. In response, Martin Checov, the general counsel of O’Melveny & Myers—the law firm where Petrocelli practices—sent a letter to Mother Jones , “on behalf of Trump University and President Donald J. Trump,” demanding that Mother Jones “not publish the video or any article relating to it and immediately destroy the video.”

hahaha

Trump said he was optimistic about the case. “Can I tell you something? Everybody that’s involved in this a little bit, they are so professional. Honestly, [unintelligible]. The other thing is, big charts and the books and the whole thing. They walk out with a whole pile of stuff. I think you’ll be okay. I think better than 50 percent.”
