I made a similar observation I think back on 2+2. Good humor comes from self deprication or “punching up” and making those above you the butt of the joke. Conservatives are only capable of punching down. They’ll never make a joke at their own expense and they revere the rich and powerful too much to ever punch up.
They are therefore incapable of humor. Any time they attempt a joke it falls awkwardly flat because it’s usually an attempt to punch down.

Agree here. You can’t punch up if you believe you are by default already at the top of the hierarchy. Nothing left but to punch down at those silly people who won’t bend the knee.

Nick DiPaolo, Steven Crowder and Jeff Dunham are basically the right-wing comics that come to mind immediately and they barely qualify given their lack of talent.

Maher is a great example of the left’s version of a republican bulldog. It’s a mistake for people to think that agreeing with him from time to time makes him an ally. The way he discusses and debates issues is as insufferable as O’Reilly.
