“I would like my squeaky brakes checked, but I should stick with my same worn-out brake pads”
I’ll take a guess that the 4% believe that acquittal in the Senate will show everyone that its just another “witch hunt” and daddy did nothing wrong.
OJ Simpson should be arrested but not convicted. The arrest alone should send the message to him that he shouldn’t do it again
“I would like my cancer diagnosed, but let’s leave the tumors in there”
I honestly hope our next president is just as crazy and gaslighty. “The second amendment is unconstitutional!”, she’ll tweet, apropos of nothing.
second amendment only applied to muskets and you are welcome to own as many as you want
But but there were also cannons!
Seems impeachable!
If the question was phrased as was phrased in previous polls, the question was more to the effect of should he be impeached=should he be investigated.
Any accurate impeachment proceeding vs Trump would have 100 counts.
Your explanation makes sense but the response still does not even when the question is framed that way. It appears to pre-suppose that nothing will be found, ergo he should not be removed from office. If that’s the case they’re saying they don’t want an actual investigation, they want a show trial
What are the chances of getting shot if one attempts to throw eggs at Trump when he visits your city?
Meanwhile the same poll has his approval rating at 43 fucking percent. We are nearly literally at the point where 55 percent of the country want the president impeached and removed from office and 45 percent think he’s doing a fanfuckingtastic job. How many Vietnamese children did the kurds kill? Zero! That’s how many.
Lol, flashing siren headline from recent member of the #resistance Matt Drudge:
I’m certain that’s how some people see it, but those people are lost and nothing will ever change their minds.
For the rest, though, I think it’s just them honestly saying they don’t know enough but do think they know enough to support an investigation. IMO, a lot of us ITT are so plugged in that we forget how hard this stuff is to understand for people who don’t follow the news.
It’s like sticking someone who only graduated high school into an advanced maths class and asking if we should look for a new proof. Maybe they understand enough to say yeah, that sounds good…but they legitimately lack the basic blocks of political knowledge to say more than that.
What they’re really saying is “please educate me and then I’ll decide.”
Now the less charitable message is “please educate me in a way that I can’t ignore and can passively absorb, then I’ll decide.”
