The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes BANANAS

The norm that these political figures are trying to preserve is that nothing too bad can ever happen to political figures. It’s not about the love of democracy or the dignity of office at all.

Holy shit we got a literal, for real Apartheid dude in the White House.

They see them on TV, where Fox News gushes over them.

Haven’t seen it and don’t plan on watching it at all.

Kudos CNN for airing someone’s viewpoints who just admitted to Congress they intentionally lie to the media.

The majority of the cast treats him like their god-emperor.

CNN getting dragged pretty hard for this, but it did yield the exchange where he claims something is in the Mueller report then goes on to admit that he hasn’t read it

Fuck off, CNN.

Literally never watching their POS network again unless I have to for a debate or something.

The republican party has to be intentionally attempting to hasten the demise of the planet.

The donor class include some very smart people who can’t all simply be science deniers.

I suppose they think their vast resources will protect them as millions of others succumb to the conditions of the planet.

Capitalism is tiger. Its rapacious and destructive by nature. The rich are riding the tiger and hoping not to get flung off.

Well regulated capitalism is fine. The problem is that the fossil fuel industry went full ‘thank you for smoking’ on climate change and the politicians decided to jump into their pocket with great enthusiasm.

A lot of you are blaming capitalism for problems that were created by government inaction. You can blame companies for trying to influence government in their favor if you want, but special interest groups exist in every country and attack every government. This one just decided to aggressively sell out to them.

Four Ospreys just went over me followed by two big Presidential looking helicopters. So I’m pretty sure I was just able to give Trump the finger at a range of a few thousand feet. He’s been in LA for the last day

The lack of regulation wasn’t only environmental, or even campaign finance, but in allowing such a dangerous concentration of power.

If the home of capitalism can’t succeed what chance does anyone else have? Its the no true scotsman of well regulated capitalism. How can you regulate amazon? They can pick up and go anywhere, play governments off against each other, and go to the lowest regulation environment.

We aren’t the home of capitalism. We’re an oligopoly with massive firms with much too much power. That’s a power problem not a capitalism problem. Power corrupts no matter where the power comes from. The same concentration of power poison is what caused most of the really major failures in socialism as well. We’re just at a really late stage in this cycle so it seems extraordinarily bad.
