Secretary of State Henry Kissinger described Rumsfeld as “the most ruthless man” he knew.- From various sites.
Rumsfield and that crew probably are more dangerous than lunatics.

This is almost all money from books and speeches. All perfectly legal and ethical. It’s not crooked in the slightest.
No offense man, but you, like many other lawyers I’ve met, have a seriously twisted sense of right and wrong. You believe that they paid the Clintons that much money because they were super good at giving speeches.
Your profession LOVES to say things like ‘everyone deserves a good defense’ and then get some monster out of trouble thus reinforcing the systemic impunity that is destroying the entire Republic. Morality doesn’t equal legality. You can do some pretty messed up stuff without stepping outside the bounds of what’s ‘legal & ethical’ according to an attorney.
I’m sorry but the legal profession has captured damn near the entire government to the great detriment of everyone who isn’t admitted to the bar. It’s one of the biggest sources of inequality there is. Most of our lawmakers are lawyers and it really shows when they deliver bills that are thousands of pages long that justify literally millions of billable hours.
The number of times someone has outright stolen from me and I’ve been told ‘that’s a civil matter’ (meaning I have to pay to have the law enforced out of my own pocket, making it not worth it to get justice) is mind boggling and I sincerely hate you people.
‘Is it legal’ is literally the last thing I’d ask when trying to determine if what I was doing was morally right. It’s completely irrelevant. All kinds of fuckery is legal. All kinds of actions that are morally good are illegal. There’s a reason why ‘lawful evil’ is an option in D&D lol.
Umm, I run an Environmental Consulting firm! I am not a lawyer.
Sorry (seriously I would never want to accuse anyone of being a lawyer who wasn’t… it’s a pretty serious insult) I was under the impression that you were. Why on earth would someone who runs an environmental consulting firm think that this kind of obvious (but legal!) corruption is OK?
You really have to adjust your thought processes man. This one isn’t subtle or hard to wrap your head around.
They don’t tell you there’s going to be quid pro quo while you’re in office… that would be illegal. They just give you a great job (or multiple jobs!) after you leave office. And you know they will so you take care of them. That’s how corruption works in this country. It happens at every level of government, especially at regulatory agencies.
What the fuck.
How can limos cost that much?
It’d be a tough day for Diamond and Silk.
The “speaking fee” racket is shady as heck, tho.
I mean it’s obvious legal bribery and the Clintons might be the single biggest beneficiaries of it.
I was going to respond with JFC, but I’ll defer to you.
Nah. They are already burned with the black community. The blacks aren’t big fan of race traitors last I heard.
Show me a shred of evidence of quid pro quo?
Or perhaps many companies and governments would find immense value in consulting with a former two-term president who knows a lot about how government and geopolitics work?
Of course, regulatory capture is a real thing but all money made by former civil servants is not inherently corrupt.
Unless the Black’s are a white family…
I’ve kind of come around on it.
Enough time has passed for initial negative reaction to blow over, it’s now something you can actually point to and make the argument about the Chief’s %, how they recognize members, etc. I know it doesn’t matter, nothing does. But it’s nice that there’s at least an argument to rebut them with that normies would prbly be swayed by.
During your term as a civil servant it’s ethically dodgy. After I don’t see how it is absent evidence of quod pro quo.
I can’t even imagine where we’d be now if Trump were just “slightly” less dumb and had someone like Rumsfeld on his team. Pretty sure democracy would be over by now. Bush truly was Rumsfeld’s puppet. Until Trump, I think he was among the the lowest IQ presidents we’ve ever had. But he at least cared about the “appearance” of decency and presidential norms. Fortunately, I don’t think it matters who Trump puts on his team because not even a Rumsfeld could deal with such an idiot for long and would wind up resigning like everyone else
Holy shit dude. That’s literally the point of the whole thing. There’s no evidence of quid pro quo.
I’m sorry but if you believe that all that money flowing to ex politicians and ex regulators is anything but entirely dirty I suspect ‘environmental consulting’ means you work for the fossil fuel industry or something. JFC.
Do you even listen to yourself?
