The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode XIV: T-minus 97 Hours

Probably time to just call the American experiment a failure and split things up. Do a prisoner swap thing so the liberals in shit hole states can get out, and we’ll ship the nazis to the shit hole states. We’ll lose some beach front in the south east, but the west coast states have better weather anyways.

And why do you think Germany had a ton more success policing these views two decades later? There were economic issues at play as well, but they learned from their fuck ups. A similar US strategy would never see a confederate flag in polite society again.

Lol. After WWI Germany was harshly punished. After WWII the Nazis, aside from the very top, were put back in charge of the country. De-Nazification was a joke.

thing is, people who know how the intel collection works know that it’s probably true. when their twitter scanners pop up alarms, they are configured for things that blm says (like acab, defund, abolish), not what the proud boys say (freedom, 1st/2nd amendment, states rights). and the chain of command treats absence of the alarm as absence of signal.

He was the leader of an armed attempt to overthrow the government where 4 police officers and 1 bystander were killed. He was released after 9 months. If that isn’t being treated lightly I don’t know what is.

Yeah and I’m not buying the argument that the cops had to let them in to avoid bloodshed. Like @Slighted said, imagine if this were a bank. Cops wouldn’t let the robbers into the vault and then let them waltz away from the scene, even though that would technically save lives too.

Even if all the politicians were evacuated, there were probably highly sensitive things available to be stolen, plus someone could plant a bomb in there (the worse case scenario being that they detonate it when the politicians return), and so on–you do not want a bunch of yahoos having free reign of the building, period. As if this needs explaining.

Never root for the police(state). If you want to get yourself a weapon and hunt down some Trumpiots, that’s different.

Got the Shaman on trespassing charges:

One side believes on the state. The other is trying to literally destroy it. If you keep not punishing the latter, they’ll keep subverting democracy. You give all these people a slap on the wrist, most dont see jail time. You think this ends now? Or do they very fucking likely try something worse later?

Grunching a bit but this is one of the few arguments I have ever seem where both sides have extremely compelling arguments.

This would make an excellent debate topic.

Grunching, but in the timeline Mitch put out, I think he said that they have to have 100 senators to get out of their already scheduled fake recess (or whatever it’s officially called) and do anything. It’s a rule apparently.

@anon10396289,

Adam Johnson, 36, of Florida, was charged with one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; one count of theft of government property; and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Johnson was arrested yesterday and is currently in custody.

You ready to pay now? In the interest of not waiting until April, I’ll let you out for $40. (offer valid today only!)

But just like with WW2, this week isn’t the first problem. The US has 150 years of turning their back to this issue. You can keep ignoring the problem and the next coup won’t be a failure. The next fascist won’t be obsessed with Twitter and not be able to do basic mental math.

lol no

What was the bet again?

He’d get charged with seditious conspiracy

That bet aint lookin to great.
