The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode XIV: T-minus 97 Hours

More like 3, if its close they will steal it, this time with the supreme courts backing since no Trump makes it a less heated issue.

Said it before. They need to squeeze these MFers as hard as possible to find out exactly what was actually planned. I imagine the socials will happily give access to DMs, etc.

Then the whole chain of command needs to be squeezed to figure out why the response was so piss poor. I’d imagine the rank and file will readily share what they know after the death of a colleague.

Luckily we don’t know what they would have done if they had gotten their hands on anyone. We certainly know what the rhetoric is. There is a big difference between standing on street chanting “hang pence” and actively trying to break into the building and then room where he is.

Not prosecuting to the fullest extent would in itself be a crime.

Adding states should be priority #1.

I think there was a climate of unwarranted trust for the protesters. Those in position to prepare for this figured “they’re Trump supporters and they’re white, just like me, all this online stuff is just brevado. They’ll be fine.” A classic miscalculation that hopefully won’t be made again.

And is anyone even talking about his hour long attempt to strongarm GA Secretary of State into flipping votes, which alone is a pretty serious crime? The reason this guy keeps getting away with every god damb thing is because he keeps creating fire after fire one after another with each being bigger than the last. It’s been a very successful strategy. But this time, I think he finally burned himself in the process and he is so well done

Yes, totally understand. I’m just saying that shocking images move public opinion more effectively. Like, one could have produced several charts over the last couple of years demonstrating increasing activity on extreme right wing social media groups including explicit calls for violence, but it often required the emotional trigger of a shocking image to get people to really care.

I was just thinking this. That insurrection fucked his whole family. Seriously fucked both their grifting game and their political futures.

I refer to it as the redneck insurrection. I agree they need to investigate/charge everyone possible.

Will not be surprised to find that , in spite of differing attire, mob consists of the mentally ill, cult members, and morons. No higher organization.

I could be wrong obv, but really hope this is right, as it portends a better future.

We need an old-fashioned two-page spread from the NYT, showing timelines and locations for all of these events. The current multiple narrative telling is very similar to A Night to Remember, about the sinking of the Titanic. The elites in the chambers felt a “faint, grinding jar”, while the cops in the engine rooms were diving under the bulkhead doors. The cops opening the doors are like the guys who let some mostly empty lifeboats be lowered into the water – WTF? – interested to see the reasoning there.

Looks like Parler has some actual money. Note that Mercer was pushing hard for the GOP to be more aggressive after Romney’s loss.
