I know that there was too much Mitt praise for his largely symbolic vote, but by far the best thing the Rs could do now would be remove Trump, install prez Pence, but appoint Mittens as the national Coronavirus Tsar with emergency powers. I know they wonât even consider it but Mitt is basically the one guy that the Ds and Rs could conceivably rally around for a short term emergency. Heâs not perfect but weâre desperate here.

+1 to Mitt being competent. I donât agree with him on much politically, but heâs definitely a guy who has the decision making part down. Like I disagree about where we should be going, but Iâd trust him to efficiently work his way toward his goals. In a situation where weâve got shared goals like the Coronavirus we could do a lot worse.

Yeah, like, I donât think weâd have much to worry about in an alternate universe with a Mitt presidency checked by a Dem congress. There wouldnât be much in the way of wins for the working class, but weâd be a functional country.

Eh. Being ready for a disaster by being financially prudent and then opening the storehouses to the public is a pretty core LDS belief. Not least because itâs an amazing opportunity to proselytize. I suspect Rmoney drops quite a few measures to stop people from losing everything during the crisis. Obviously he builds every single one of those things so they disappear the day the crisis passes, but he definitely puts them in place and feels zero cognitive dissonance as he does it.
Sadly the goal for the working class right now is surviving without losing what little they have. After the pandemic things might improve for them because historically surviving a pandemic is good for people economically⌠but letâs be real all the previous pandemics happened at a time when consumption was tightly linked to supply not demand.

Dems should nominate Mitt. Better than Biden. Better chance at winning as well.
