I will confirm the real world reality of this. We were told the Iraqi forces were absolutely elite and battle hardened because of a decade long war with Iran. Plus their elite forces were called the Republican Guard. That should have been a giveaway they sucked.
Our national guard would have crushed them in reality.
That being said I don’t just dismiss the concept that our military is not prepared for a large scale war against an opponent with more resources.
Regardless seems unlikely we get into a conventional war with China or Russia directly.
