Goddamn man i went looking for articles about unmasking and came across this NPR gem, the article was pretty good most of the way about how basically no wrongdoing occurred except for whoever leaked the Flynn stuff.
but then check out this last paragraph.

That was the approach taken by Trump’s campaign manager, Brad Parscale, who said: “Americans have a right to know the depth of Biden’s involvement in the setup of Gen. Flynn to further the Russia collusion hoax.”
Try the case in the court of public opinion? You mean just lie and lie until the public thinks a crime was committed? hmmm where have I heard this before?
edit: also not sure what “groundwork has been laid” if you mean baseless accusations of wrongdoing then yes “groundwork”

i might be behind on this because this was from 20hrs ago, BUT i believe north carolina has a law that REQUIRES the governor to put in a senator of the same political party of the seat vacated. so not exactly a WIN.
it’s almost a free roll for them to throw the book at him to get some “see we are FAIR AND BALANCED” pr, because the best the governor can do is put in a moderate

Agree with this, and to be clear, I do like the dynamic in France, and would much rather live there than the USA. The people tend to be cold, but I find it more authentic, and when I did break through and make a good friend or 2, I got the impression they’d go to the ends of the Earth to help me.
One interesting thing in France is that almost no topic is taboo, except finances. You don’t dare ask someone how much they make, and noone really cares either, and mentioning/bragging how much you earn is about the worst faux pas one could make.
