The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode VII: We Are All Going To Die, Thanks Obama!

Be honest, is it even a little disappointing that all these fancy precedents and legal doctrines can be wholly defeated by shamelessness?

Massively so. We’re in a fight over law and reality. In general the judiciary has done pretty well, except for the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has more authority and influence than any other court. Staffing it with hacks who are so ideologically driven that they won’t defer to law and reality, unlike Stevens and Souter and other “squishy” republican appointees, has been the major project of republicans for the last 50 years. Turning back the tide is why I don’t care a whole lot whether the dem nominee is Bernie, Biden, or a broken toaster.

Oh thank god, the special unredacted version of the Miller Report with all the special bonus crimes on top of the clearly impeachable shit in the main report. Congress removes him from office now for sure.

Or the DOJ will just tell this judge to fuck off and that’ll be that.

We need to post in a thread to have it show the blue bubble with # of new posts? Didn’t realize that.

It’s a weird dichotomy itt where we are simultaneously handwringing the very skin from our hands over obviously bullshit Congressional investigations into Biden while basking in confidence that nothing that comes out about Trump matters.

I’m assuming the bot’s not working in this thread yet? - sorry to those that have it on ignore…

Just click the little bell icon on the right and set it to tracking. Or posting in the thread works too, but is not necessary.

For greater effect, I’m handwashing the very skin from my hands. Seriously, they’re red and dry and sanitizer stings.

Al Franken resigned.

You don’t have to post

You can scroll to bottom and choose tracking from the dropdown of options, but posting is easiest way and more interactive!

Part of that is the fact that the Republicans have a huge structural advantage plus insane gerrymandering, so they have a much bigger buffer from harm, but also a much greater ability to inflict harm on their opposition. I’m reasonably certain the only way to change things at this point is going to be through some kind of disaster or major violence.
