The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode VII: We Are All Going To Die, Thanks Obama!

Or anyone voting for it. AGAIN. Nvmd that the first time was unforgivable

Trump is laying down a marker that he wants to beat the score for H1N1. So, we should just hammer him relentlessly when he fails.

I read that sentence 4 times and have no idea what it is saying.

Every single time I click ā€œshow hidden messageā€ I regret it. But I canā€™t stop.

Bush sucked but his 9/11 speech was amazing. People so needed to hear from their leader at that time, and he really delivered.

its still that same dishonest ā€œobama waited 6 months to declare a national emergencyā€ thing. obama declared a ā€œpublic health emergencyā€ like 4 days after h1n1 hit the US.

Yes.

That should be disturbing.

Humans are tribal. We have Chiefs. We need them to be aware of all the issues, take council from anyone they need to, and make good decisions. They need to keep a level head and not get caught up in the emotion of the moment. They need to take the long view. They need to be willing to make unpopular decisions. Etc.

I didnā€™t mean it like that, but I donā€™t think thatā€™s very good anthropology/sociobiology.

I meant that it should be disturbing that the message you wanted came from the person who handled the crisis so very badly. Makes it seem like people are easy to fool and manipulate.

I think he handled the immediate aftermath pretty well. Iraq was by far his biggest mistake. And all the general republican BS.

The fact that little bush made a great speech at a time when the country needed just puts Trump in an even worse light because he canā€™t even rise to the level of the previous worst president in recent history. Trump canā€™t find one good speech writer because he canā€™t even pretend to have palatable ideas that sound good when said out loud, thatā€™s how awful this administration is, and thatā€™s why itā€™s even sadder that the Dems are going to put another dotard up against him in November and lose.

The Patriot Act was signed 6 weeks after 9/11. And it wasnā€™t some well thought out response to that crisis. It was a longstanding wish list of the war and spy agencies and they (he) was not letting a tragedy go to waste.

wait, Trump thinks his republican rating has fallen to 78%?

That would mean he losesā€¦

Why sure, David. That was Donald Trump during the last crisis. It just didnā€™t matter.

I think heā€™s probably referring to the Gallup poll, taken from Feb 3-16, that found 77% of Americans were very confident (31%) or somewhat confident (46%) that the U.S. government would be able to handle a coronavirus outbreak. The poll specifically references the ā€œfederal governmentā€ and says nothing about Trump.

One thing just occurred to me. Trump canā€™t do rallies for the forseeable future. That has to be KILLING him. He loves his rallies.

If this thing plays out as disastrous as itā€™s looking, assuming we donā€™t cancel the election, we will know to the person - exactly how many people in this country are hopelessly lost in a cult.

Itā€™ll be pretty much everyone who still supported him before this.

Though my dad who is as far into the cult as one gets hasnā€™t really been defending Trump lately when Iā€™ve been dunking on his shit handling of this, which is incredible and hasnā€™t happened before. Maybe because heā€™s worried heā€™s gonna die. Also my brother in law also realizes this shit is fucked.

So maybe it pierces the bubble, but I still think both 100% vote Trump in Nov assuming theyā€™re still alive and we still have elections.
