Seems the big price drop in US oil was triggered yesterday (as opposed to tomorrow or the next day) because some oil futures trader got caught with a big contract about to expire, and just had to sell it to anyone at any price or, presumably, dump a shitton of oil in his back garden. Must have been a fun day at the office.

US oil is in to the banks for billions, I’d guess the plan will probably be to ‘sell’ any vaguely viable fields to big oil players, write off the loans as part of the sale and shovel more cash to the poor bankers eating a loss.
