Is it bad that my primary daydreaming for at least the last 6 months is imprisoning Trump’s enablers, confiscating everything they have and subjecting them to public humiliation. Like, this is literally my fantasy life now.

Yup. Despite what the NYT would have you think, President Florida Man’ base are the wealth and upper-middle class who give zero fucks about actually helping factory workers.
Also, it’s near impossible for Dems to get sufficient majorities in Congress to actually pass anything.

Not a single deplorable outside of the top 1% income knows what trickle-down economics is and that it’s been proven to be complete bunk.
To them, the rich got rich because they deserve it and the poor are poor because they’re failures. No real effort is made to discuss structural inequalities that keep the rich from losing money and the poor from gaining it. Since most people below the poverty line are people of color, they believe that the lack of money means lack of ability or lack of intelligence. This is what justifies racism to them. To them, the America they live in is a fair society where everybody gets what they deserve. Thus, they have no beef with the rich. In fact, every decision they make that makes them richer is something smart and impressive even if it is at their expense. They only wish they thought of it themselves.
I don’t know if this is years of free-market brainwashing or some kind of economic self-flagellation perpetuated by the true religion of the right-wing or if it’s something else. Whatever it is, people have been essentially getting robbed for decades and are content that it is happening. Even people with a seemingly healthy retirement setup are going to be disappointed when they find out how quickly it dries up.
