Trump is for open borders
Quickly forgetting about this doesn’t seem like a sound strategy.
The whole reason they are touting that IHME model (which is utter garbage) and the entire task force is all repeating in unison THE WORST IS OVER THIS WEEK is so they can reopen ASAP. It is absolutely the wrong plan of action but like everything I never expect Trump to take much blame for it when it blows up in their face.

Was just thinking the same thing. But they only really want to keep brown/black people from legitimately voting. They full endorse real vote fraud.

He doesn’t have the authority to “open back up.” The stay home orders are imposed by governors. I don’t think he realizes this but since we live an an absolute fucking hell of a society, it will of course work to his political benefit as he will just blame (blue, high population density state) governors for ruining the economy.

Unfortunately it would mean a lot of people die unnecessarily but reopening too soon is going to run this thing right up to election.
Which means the only way he gets re-elected is by theft. Which is odds on. It is not a great timeline, in fact in many respects it is horrible.
