Would you believe that monologue was not in the book? The Coens wrote it for the adaptation, but it sounds as though it was lifted word for word from McCarthy.
The original monologue:
I sent one boy to the gas chamber at Huntsville. One and one only. My arrest and my testimony. I went up there and visited with him two or three times. Three times. The last time was the day of his execution. I didn’t have to go but I did. I sure didn’t want to. He’d killed a fourteen year old girl and I can tell you right now I never did have no great desire to visit with him let alone go to his execution but I have done it. The papers said it was a crime of passion and he told me there wasn’t no passion to it.
Nobody can ever explain why voter fraud would legitimately be partisan. It is such a ridiculous topic and just baked racism.

Last detail from me. But Cormac just cuts through everything with devastating language. Just right to the quick like few authors can.

Man she missed a real opportunity to point out that he has been back and forth to Mar a Lago several times, he could have voted in person. Just to piss him off.

I know it won’t happen but if Biden wins the election he should definitely appoint Hunter Biden and Naomi Biden as white house advisors. They shouldn’t actually do anything, and he should have qualified people doing the work, but definitely announce that Hunter is in charge of middle east peace, and Naomi in charge of women’s issue and workforce development. Actually, even better is if he has Sasha and Malia Obama as advisors instead.
Then he should immediately fire any people that are supposed to have oversight of the executive branch.
I know the republicans will scream about how fucked up it is, and will disregard the hypocrisy, but fuck 'em.
Then Joe should immediately make all immigrants legal citizens. When republicans scream that he can’t just do that, he should definitely use the “Fuck you, that’s why” excuse, and then pack the court.
I would absolutely love to see the conservative heads explode if a democrat president ever did any of the stuff Trump has done. Let the facebook trumpkins tie themselves in knots trying to support Trump when he does it but freak out when a democrat does.
