Cillizza is trash obviously but I’d be happy to argue the side that Pelosi botched the impeachment. The goal all along should have been to smear him with as much truth as could be packed into those hearings. The low-hanging fruit was virtually limitless. Instead they focused on issues that are difficult for the layman to understand and or care about.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, doubts that Trump did it. That is a given. The Parnas stuff just confirms what everybody knew. Everybody in the Senate (just like the House) knows that Trump is “guilty”.
However, the so-called trial in the Senate will not be a fact-based undertaking. The only question is whether it is an impeachable offense. Of course, the Senate will collectively (2/3 rule) say No.
