At some point these stop being “far-right” beliefs and are already mainstream. When you’ve got a prime time Fox News anchor or two, and like 25-30% of the country, and you’re driving one of the two major parties, you’re not really far anything anymore. You’ve succeeded at shifting the Overton window to include your views.
At this point the media just won’t admit/realize the truth: the Republican Party is rapidly becoming (has become) an authoritarian party that is seeking to turn the United States into a de facto white ethnostate with some Christian theocracy mixed in.
The gap between the two parties continues to widen, even as Dems tack towards the center with great haste.
The vast majority of folks buying an F150 aren’t going after the “work truck” bare bones model. This is a status symbol and it needs to have 4 doors, 4x4, a tow package, a V8 engine, etc. and the base model has none of that. These options are available on the F-150 XLT and Lariat models, which start around $65k MSRP.
Also, do cars make it off the lot at MSRP these days? My understanding is that due to supply chain issues, a lot of newer automobiles are going for over MSRP. I’m not planning to ever buy a new car in my life so it isn’t something I’m following a lot though.
i did an online build it now on an f150 to see how expensive it got and it was just a couple years ago but the basest base model had roll-up windows, like that you crank
I have an F-150 I use for work with slightly oversized tires. When all those dummies in portland were driving around and I was driving through downtown a lot It made me a little self conscious. Also you guys are just talking f-150s look up prices of f-250 or any other full-size truck. It’s unreal how expensive they are. I’m amazed at how many of them are on the road. I am currently trying to buy a f-250 and have just given up as the prices are insane.
Yea I found a good deal online for brand new f-150. I went and test drove it and it had roll up windows, vinyl seats, just basic as could be. Still was over 30k.
Andrew on ch5 YouTube did a video with the people’s convoy. Some golden moments in there, but it is an hour. Feel free to skip around.
Those not familiar with him, he does deadpan interviews with crazy people, and it is usually pretty entertaining.
Funny to see some of the truckers parrot Putin directly. Also funny to see the lady lawyer who was one of the organizers disappear near the end of the convoy.
This is not surprising at all, they get all their “information” from their social media, and Russian trolls or bots can simply dump propaganda in there and it will become a “fact” for them.
I’d say its different in that Klepper, at least now, certainly angles for the “gotcha” liberal questions and responses while Andrew is more filming for the surrealness of crazy people.
The best bits, like him interviewing his hometown friend, them getting kicked out of a local attraction, and him butting in on a right wing news interview to interview who they were interviewing all while drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon, didn’t have much to do with the actual crazy people.
