Was just looking at Cameo, and I think it would feel pretty rough to be part of their Black Friday sale.
Like, if youâre Mike Singletary arenât you pissed that you have to offer a 50% discount, whereas Warren Sapp is only taking 20% off?
Also, Iâm pretty amazed at some of the people on here. I can see it being very cool to get a personalized video from someone like Tony Hawk ($100, down from $199), Boy George ($200, down from $400), or George Wendt ($50, down from $125).
But who on earth is interested in a video from the limo driver from How I Met Your Mother ($20) or the guy who played Scut Farkus in A Christmas Story ($50!)?
For me, the obvious value picks are:
Rick Mahorn ($20)
(Maybe a spite pick for someone who hates Notre Dame) âRudyâ Ruettiger ($50)
Tay Zonday (the guy who sang Chocolate Rain, $20)
Jay Jackson (Perd Hapley from Parks & Rec, $50)
Kevin McDonald (Kids In the Hall, a steal at $20)
If you have $1,000 to burn, you could go with Andrew Dice Clay or Steve Wozniak, but I think the choice might be Supahotfire
@LFS, are you at all surprised by his need to do this? Not really him specifically, but any actor at that level of accomplishment (not nothing, but not great by any stretch of the imagination). Are they doing it just for the money or is there some other angle?
No, but I figured that the show was successful enough and if he saved a good chunk, he probably would be fine. Also it seems like people like that still work in the industry in some capacity even after the fame is gone, so I wouldnât have thought he was unemployed even if I never saw him in anything.
I would personally only do it at volume. If someone is going to contact me at random times for some on demand recording of me saying some shit, and that I have to do on short notice. I wouldnât do it for $20.
Impossible to address his financial situation. He would obviously not be the first person to make millions when very young and then blow it. But I have no idea if $20 is meaningful to him.
But I will say this: even after 28 years (Jesus Christ) of working with actors, I do still have occasional encounters where the depth of a personâs need for attention and praise makes me say âwowâ. So it is definitely possible that having somebody, anybody, out there wanting to hear from him scratches an itch.
My editing skills are shit, so 15 min is optimistic. But letâs just assume 15 min work. 1-2x/month. I have 24hrs to complete each request. $50-100, but it really depends on what else Iâve got going at the time. I also hate filming myself, so thatâs factored in there.
