Next John Wick movie should just be him chilling out with his dog and driving around in a cool car. I would watch 90 minutes of Keanu playing fetch with a doggo. Itā€™s bullshit that people say you need narrative conflict in a story.

Just imagine all the kids who will sit on that cock while playing in the graveyard.

Iā€™ve been stung dozens of times in my life and never had an issue. I was mowing the lawn Sunday, something stung me right by my Achilles, I slapped at it and then ran away, so I didnā€™t get a good look at it. Finished mowing, a little pain, but no real issues Sunday.

Monday morning my foot and ankle were crazy swollen - like I had no visible ankle and I had the foot of a 500 pound man. Took some Claritin and Iā€™ve been elevating it but itā€™s not much better today, wild. Iā€™ve never had a reaction to a sting like this before. I can walk fine, itā€™s just I turned into Weird Al from the Fat video from my calf down.

So, anyway, is the next sting gonna finish me off?

Those hornets that live in the ground are nasty as fuck. I never have any issues with bee stings, but I had a similar (not as bad as you though) reaction to a hornet sting. You probably want to make sure itā€™s not infected though?

Do you live somewhere with rattlesnakes/scorpions?

Really rare rattlesnake, saw one as a kid, theyā€™re endangered here, I think. It was definitely a bug, I felt it as I swatted at it after the sting. No scorpions.

The foot is better today, swelling went down a lot over night. I now have a visible ankle.

Thanks guys. Really odd.

I may not mow that area of grass for the rest of the year, hah.

Not to scare you but thatā€™s how my dad died. Ran over a hornetā€™s nest while mowing a lawn and gg.

Wow, Iā€™m so sorry to hear that. That is truly awful.

Maybe I really wonā€™t mow there the rest of the year, or at least wait until evening when itā€™s cool.

Carry an EpiPen with you when mowing outside. Also rehearse how to use it. If you are afraid of that nest, call in an exterminator.

My fatherā€™s Epi was in his truck.

Fuck man, bees almost killed my uncle, he was allergic and accidentally pissed off a whole hornet nest.

Precisely what my dad did.

I am once again begging literally anyone to do something to this man

Iā€™ve never thought I was allergic - I never had a reaction like this to a sting, and Iā€™ve been stung plenty - when I was a teen I worked in agriculture during the summers and it was like a weekly thing, and even now Iā€™m always outside (big yard and garden) so get stung once or twice a year. Stung multiple times last year stacking firewood, there was a yellowjacket nest somewhere nearby that I never found.

Anyway, Iā€™ll mention it to my PCP and see if they prescribe an epipen, I didnā€™t realize I needed an RX for one. Seems like it might be a good idea to have one if I swelled up that much from one sting. Maybe allergies change over time.

Thanks for sharing your story, Iā€™m definitely taking it more seriously now.
