Correct. Especially when Mitt Romney and Mitch McConnell and Fox News pundits all explain in unison that DeSantis is the establishments choice that voters should get behind. They really respect those guys.

“Mainstream” right wing press like WaPo being out on trump is probably a worse sign for him than fox and wsj not backing him. It won’t make a difference with voters, but it’s a more reliable indicator that the establishment is truly done with him.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that the establishment folks want him out of the picture so they can get back to doing country club fascism. Their problem is the millions of Americans aching to get into a shooting war on behalf of white supremacy and Donnie Dumb Dumb’s willingness to ally with them to advance his ego.
