The Former Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Volume XI: The Crypt Keeper Years

There’s a difference between Fauci (not dunking on Trump but also not legitimizing Trump’s bullshit) and Birx (affirmatively lying on Trump’s behalf and saying shit like “his incredible attention to detail in the data’”). You can argue Fauci should have done more, and I’ll listen, but Birx is an unmitigated piece of shit and there isn’t really any room for disagreement on that.

Wasn’t someone asking yesterday if PI had a “Will Mitch indict?” market?

What caffeine said, also less Trump people will trust it if the biggest public health official is slamming Trump

I think it was @6ix who first made this comparison.

But imagine if instead of Trump, some African American celebrity was elected president. Like Lil Wayne is elected president on a platform of “Make Americans Cash $ Millioniares”. He’s holding rallies wearing MAC$M schwag.

Then the rona hits, and President Wayne tweets about how syzurp and purple drank can cure covid, and holds press conferences full of lies, and appoints his son Tiny Wayne to the corona task force.

Fauci woulda dropped the hammer on that. Senate would have impeached immediately. CEOs would have denounced. Twitter would have banned. Why didn’t they? Because living in a society underpinned by the lie of white supremacy is a hell of a drug.

Judge says hold up a bit, this release might be questionable.

Maybe it’s leverage against Trump? That’s 4D.

The 5D is hoping the threat triggers him into yet another unforced error.

Given how long he has done thud and the presidents he has worked for I suspect it was difficult.

Yep. Patting my own back here, but when I said many years ago that a random person off the street would be a better choice than Trump, there was plenty of resistance. Anyone who thought he was anything like average was fooled either by his whiteness, wealth or the fact that he was wearing a suit.

yeah this is correct, and i would have snap called choosing a rando off the street, or even pence.

The circus is already dead, right?

I’m on team Brix & Fauci aren’t a lot different really.

i’m no genius, but to me i’ve seen, before the pandemic, trump respond to big flashy emotional testimony, and he’s bored by fact-based normal science/intelligence. fauci’s like whispering, “well i disagree, we need a much greater sample size than one person you talked to on the phone.” and as soon as he’s out of the room 3 other people put on a fox news performance and to donnie dumb dumb it’s 3-1 in favor of fun action now instead of boring waiting for later

the guy is 80 years old, he’s used to everyone he talks to professionally instantly respecting his opinion and he’s not interested in spending every moment impressing the gravity of the situation to an unprecedentedly stupid president. well it sucks for us that he didn’t feel like coming up with more effective ways to communicate the science. with hundreds of thousands of lives at stake idk it seems like he could have tried harder.

I don’t recall any resistance. That was pretty much everyone’s take.

Fauci did all he could to signal and get shit done behind the scenes. Birx picked out scarves and parroted Trump in the worst way.

Yeah I see nothing in common between the two.
