Under normal administrations, they are very strict about the census. But with LOL Trump I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s only like 15 million people in the US. I don’t even remember filling it out. I’m sure I did but I don’t remember.

What’s the penalty for lying in a deposition? An on-camera whack upside the head would be cool.
Practically speaking you can impeach the witnesse’s testimony at trial with the deposition in light of contradictory evidence.
Someone may once have been prosecuted for perjury for lying in a civil deposition, but I’m not aware of it.
That said, it pisses judges off and can lead to various forms of sanctions if shown clearly. Having a judge who has decided he doesn’t like you is a bad thing in a legal case.

There’s no downside for Republican leadership staging another riot every time they lose; worst case scenario is a few MAGA grandpas go to jail for a month or two. They’d be stupid to not do this again next time.
