The Former Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Volume XI: The Crypt Keeper Years

Nowhere is it in the constitution. The filibuster is something that was created by the Senate (by majority vote no less!) and can just as easily be ended by the Senate. It’s not even that old of a development. You used to need to keep speaking to filibuster.

Just wondering to myself, why would her mom even have a topless photo of her daughter in the first place?

If George W. Bush could become president, why not Jr?

And it’s easy to blame Manchin but I bet there aren’t 30 votes to eliminate the filibuster. They love how it helps perpetuate the myth that somehow the senate rises above the partisan fray. They’re far too self-important to put the needs of the people first. And it’s easier for everyone to get re-elected if you come to an impasse on every controversial issue.

Nah there are like 47 votes to nuke it.

I was thinking Claudia did it herself on her mom’s phone or computer but it does sound like her mom did it which is nuts

I’m not entirely sure how many Democrats actually support the filibuster, but it makes sense for some of them to not publicly support a filibuster unless they actually have 50 votes to nuke it, so that their words can’t be used against them if the effort fails and Republicans try to invoke the nuclear option later when they have control of the Senate.

If we can’t impeach him can we charge him with sedition and attempted overthrowing of the US government…

Greene giving the Ron Paul defense of ‘many people wrote it’ is awesome

No one is running campaign ads around voting for or against the filibuster. 1 in 10 people know what that is and fewer care about it.

Yeah, it doesn’t. A whole bunch of these rules are just made up in Congress by the fucking parties that run the government. They make up their own rules to suit themselves in how they run the government, but when it suits them, they are private groups that the government cannot interfere with.

She’s not making money, she’s a child getting abused that is receiving social media views rather then support from CFS due to who her parents are.

Congress still, in theory, has to abide by the rules that it sets for itself, including rules about changing those rules. The things that Republicans do to violate political norms are a bunch of angle-shooting that generally doesn’t actually violate those rules but rely on there being loopholes due to rules being written under the false assumption that all parties will act in good faith.

My step mum told me once I was 18 I’d have to make my own way in life, and took my dad off to a remote part of West Africa where the nearest phone was 50 miles away lol. Nice people.
