Conviction is whatever the senate says it is by 2/3
Any other arguments are complete bullshit. Its a purely political, legislative act. I’d be shocked to see SCOTUS step in.

I don’t know how it works in the US but if ITV (say), a commercial channel in the UK, sold someone a block of time to do whatever the buyer wanted I’m pretty sure ITV would be jointly liable for whatever was broadcast.

On a side note, one of the positives about taking Covid seriously is that its really quite easy to kick the french fry habit. Way too messy to make at home and I’m not doing take-out or dining in. Therefore, no more french fries in my diet. Can’t hurt.
